The Experience

At The Foraging Chef, everything centres around a single table.

Fifteen guests sit around the kitchen for a chef-led tasting menu built on modern English cooking, using wild ingredients from the English landscape.

We believe flavour should always come first.

Everything begins here. Not how it looks, not how complicated it is, but how it tastes and how it feels to eat. Every element on the plate has a purpose.

Foraging is where many of our ingredients begin. We spend time finding things that are often overlooked, preserving them to take them in new directions and reveal different flavours.

Our cooking focuses on elevating lesser ingredients — unfashionable and often forgotten — rather than relying on luxury. It allows for more creativity, and a more interesting way of cooking.

Each course is introduced as it arrives, explaining the ingredients, the techniques used to preserve them, and the thinking behind the dish.

Dinner is a twelve-course tasting menu, with snacks and paired drinks, served Wednesday to Saturday. Lunch is a shorter five-course menu, also paired, with the same attention to detail — simply distilled.


This isn’t formal dining, and it isn’t casual either.


It’s immersive.


Conversational.


And fun.
